Scooter Cover

How To Select A Scooter Cover

If you are looking for a scooter cover, then you have probably already selected your new power scooter.  There are plenty of options out there for people who need covers, but they can be somewhat hard to locate at times.  This is partly due to the fact that there are several different varieties of scooters, and each is constructed a little bit differently.

The unique construction of your scooter will not, however, be an impediment to finding a well fitting cover.  The covers detailed below are flexible and will fit nearly any size scooter.  There is a possibility that you will want to get two different types of covers, since your scooter may need two types of protection.

A scooter cover is not always a storage cover, it can also be something that is designed to protect your scooter and its delicate machinery from the elements.  If you are a person who uses your scooter outdoors a great deal, or who lives in an area with frequent rain, snow, or generally inclement weather, you may want to get a cover for this purpose.  These type of covers are often referred to as scooter capes, and they are made to cover both the rider of the scooter and the scooter.

Scooter cover capes are quite simple to use and usually feature a zipping neckline and an elastic hem.  A see through panel for the front of the scooter allows for the best visibility.

There is a different type of scooter cover needed for storage.  When you are transporting your mobility scooter from one place to another, or if you need to keep your scooter in your home, car, or garage, for a while, you will need a heavy duty cover.  These covers are made from weather resistant material that will keep moisture and dust away from your scooter.

Generally these covers are very lightweight and can be used by anyone.  They are simple to use: Place the cover over your mobility scooter and then secure by using the drawstring at the bottom. Anyone who has invested in a mobility scooter will want to keep their investment protected from the elements and from dust.

Using one of the two types of scooter cover detailed above will allow you to keep your scooter in prime condition.

I've got a storage cover for my scooter. I don't use it much in the winter but keep it in the garage. The cover does a great job of keeping it free of dust and grime that would normally land on it. I've used it as a travel cover at times as well. My son has a trailer and often if we go someplace he will put my scooter on the trailer and the cover keeps my scooter clean and dry for me to use when we get where we're going.

I'm really pleased with my scooter cover. It allows to me to go out in all weathers as that's great as I like to get out often. The cover fits all the way over my scooter and has big plastic windows in it so I can still see where I'm going. It's easy to fit and if you're out on your own someone will always help you fit it if you are finding it difficult. I keep mine wrapped up like a package inside a waterproof bag and keep it in a bag on my scooter.
